100% Thai Silk "Takor" Scarves
This is one of our our finest scarves, made from the exclusive takor silk yarn from northeastern Issan. This cloth is usually reserved for wedding or formal dresses. It is a very fine, very soft silk with raised patterns which are formed by a 4-process pressing. The dyes are all natural dyes made from plants and nuts found in the region. Our black, for example, is from a local nut, and the silk is dyed in it 14 times to achieve the beautiful hue.
The Takor is offered in two sizes: the 32 inch by 71 inch shawl and the 16 inch by 71 inch scarf. Due to the time and effort needed to make each Takor scarf, there are only limited numbers available each month.
The Takor is offered via special order.
